World Cup 2010: We can go to the end - Bob Bradley
Saturday, 26 June 2010 09:27
United States coach Bob Bradley believes his side can take advantage of finishing top of their group, ahead of England, by reaching the final of the World Cup. You know what; we tend to agree.
We don't necessarily think that the United States will, but finishing top of Group C offers a fantastic chance and we did think that England stood a chance, so we have to say that the United States do too.

Arsenal midfielder and bit part Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas is tipping the United States to get to the semi-finals of the World Cup.
"The best moment for me at the World Cup so far was that nail biting end when the USA scored in the last minute against Algeria. It was an incredible finale and was the most memorable one for me.

USA 1 Algeria 0: USA win group ahead of England

As the game between England and Slovenia came to an end - Slovenia were still second in the table and going through to the last sixteen, but moments later Landon Donovan is presented with an opportunity that only Yakubu would miss.
Fortunately for all the supporters that travelled to South Africa his name isn't Yakubu and Donovon scored making it 1-0 and effectively winning the group for the United States.

Slovenia 0 England 1: Defoe does it for England
Wednesday, 23 June 2010 18:12
They started the day top of Group C but they ended it on a plane home while England - who started the day in third place finish in second and will now likely face Germany at the weekend in what is sure to be one of the matches of the tournament, or will be billed that way but the English media anyway.
The winning goal was scored by Jermaine Defoe from a James Milner cross in the 22nd minute and despite a chance or two more in the game, that was the only goal.

It is a do-or-die situation - England captain Steven Gerrard

We have four games today and if this website was written in German I am sure you would appreciate and accept that we would be putting a little emphasis on the Germany v Ghana match in Group D, but it isn't written in Germany, so our day is very much going to focus on Group C and the England and USA games.
First, to the USA and we predicted earlier that we think it will be a one two for England and the USA and we stick by that - we just think that both will have enough, but the one that we worry about is England.

Wayne Rooney, or someone close to him, issues apology
Saturday, 19 June 2010 17:31
Wayne Rooney doesn't care about the supporters. He showed that last night. Sure, he can issue a statement apologising, but that is done the day after the night before when, without anyone around him to tell him what to say and when to say it, he spoke his own mind.

Wayne Rooney: He doesn't have a clue

There is a huge gap between the average supporter and the average football player these days. The gap is even bigger when you look at the type of player that plays for England - earning millions each season and living a life so far removed from the real world, that they can hardly be blamed not really knowing what is going on and acting the way they do.
They are coached on what to say, how to say it and when to say. Some are told to kiss the badge and if you offer one of them a little more money they will happily jump ship or say whatever you want.

England 0 Algeria 0: How disappointing was that?
Friday, 18 June 2010 21:14
Well, I think I speak for most England fans when I say that was disappointing. I don't really know what else to say about the game in general, but we do have a few questions. The thing is we are not sure if it will do any good asking them.
But we will. First, why Heskey? If it is to partner Rooney, why hasn't Rooney scored for England in more than 10 hours? Drop one or both, we really don't see what they both offer on that performance.

England v Algeria Live: Updates, team news and banter
Friday, 18 June 2010 18:11
If England win by more than one goal, they will go top of the group. If Algeria win, they will go second in the group. This is am important match for Group C and we will be running a live text commentary right here and on Twitter.
This is an important match for both team. Defeat for Algeria means they are going home and while a draw will keep them in with a shout, they really need a win. Anything other than three points for England and the British press will be calling for a head.

Slovenia 2 United States 2: USA USA USA
Friday, 18 June 2010 17:36
That was a great match to watch and further proof that the World Cup is going to get better and better. By the end of the match, the United States were a little unlucky not to have won, although a draw is a fair result.
Slovenia went two up courtesy of goals from Valter Birsa in the 13th minute and Zlatan Ljubijankic in the 42nd and at half time, probably thought they had won. I thought they had.
